Booking

How do I book a charter?

Click any Reserve button on the site. You’ll go to our booking app, pick a date and trip type, enter group size, and pay in full to lock the date. Confirmation hits your inbox immediately.

How far in advance should I book?

Most weekends book out two weeks ahead. Sunset slots fill fastest in summer and around holidays. If you have a specific date in mind, sooner is better.

Can I book by phone?

Yes — if you’d rather talk to a human, call us. Online booking is faster for most people.

Can I book multiple charters for the same group across days?

Yes — book each one separately. If you want to coordinate (e.g., a Cumberland morning + sunset finish), tell us in the booking notes and Captain Matt will sequence them well.

Pricing & Payment

How is pricing structured?

Per person, with a 2-person minimum. Sunset $95/person, Cumberland $145, Sandbar $110, Half-Day $135, Full-Day $225. Private Charter is flat-rate, quoted by duration and scope.

What’s included?

Captain, fuel, ice, bottled water, life jackets, all safety gear. You bring food and drinks of your choice.

How do I pay?

Card at booking, via the booking app. Pay in full to lock the date.

Do you accept tips?

Tips are welcome but never expected. If Captain Matt made your day, you’ll know how to thank him.

Are there any extra fees?

No surprise fees. Add-ons (Sunset premium, Anniversary package, Photography, etc.) are clearly priced before you commit.

The Boat & Captain

What boat do you run?

A 2017 Robalo R265 Walkaround. Cuddy cabin with shaded bow seating, T-top for sun protection, twin outboards, six-guest maximum.

Who’s the captain?

Captain Matthew Burrows — USCG-licensed Master Captain and a commercial airline pilot flying Airbus aircraft for a major carrier. Same captain on every trip.

Is there a bathroom on board?

Yes — cuddy cabin head access. Pointed out at boarding.

How many people fit?

Six guests maximum, per USCG regulations and our own preference for private feel.

Safety & Weather

What if the weather is bad?

Captain Matt makes the weather call by mid-morning that day. Unsafe wind, lightning, heavy rain → we reschedule at no cost. Borderline weather → we usually still go (some of the best days come out of cloudy starts). Your safety is the only thing that matters.

Is the captain authorized to cancel for safety?

Yes — Captain Matt has full authority to delay, reroute, reschedule, or cancel any charter at any time for safety reasons. Mechanical concerns count too. Captain-initiated cancellation always comes with a full refund or reschedule.

What safety equipment is on board?

USCG-compliant: life jackets for every guest, throwable PFDs, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, signaling devices, VHF radio, GPS, and required documentation. Inspected vessel.

Cancellation & Reschedule

What’s the cancellation policy?

30+ days before charter → full refund or reschedule. Within 30 days → no refund. No-shows forfeit payment. Late arrivals may have a shortened charter to stay on schedule. Captain cancels for weather/mechanical → always full refund or reschedule.

Can I reschedule?

30+ days out, yes — no penalty, pick a new date. Inside 30 days, only if weather/mechanical (captain decision) or by special exception.

What if I’m late?

Charter time may be shortened to keep us on schedule for the day. Try to arrive 10-15 minutes early.

BYOB, Kids, & What to Bring

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

Yes — bring whatever your group likes. We provide ice + bottled water. BYOB allowed in moderation. No glass containers. No illegal substances.

Are kids welcome?

Yes — children are welcome on every charter. They count toward the 6-guest maximum. Parents/guardians supervise. Life jackets when required by law or captain instruction.

Are pets allowed?

Generally no, but ask. Service animals are always welcome.

What should I bring?

Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, light jacket (sunset cruises get breezy), camera, your food and drinks. Soft-soled shoes preferred. Towels for sandbar trips.

What if someone gets seasick?

Take a Dramamine or Bonine an hour before boarding if you’re sensitive. The Robalo is stable but coastal water has its days. Tell Captain Matt at boarding so he can plan a smoother route if needed.

Where do you depart from?

Fernandina Beach, FL. Specific dock location is provided in your booking confirmation.

Is there parking at the dock?
